Why Everyone Should Shave Their Head At Least Once: Creative Freedom & Rocking the Bald Look

Bald is more than a look – it’s a declaration.

A declaration of confidence, non-conformity and reinvention. For me, shaving my head was more than a moment of reckless emotion, it was a re-brand. A personal one that was long overdue. Since then, I’ve decorated my skull with tattoos and rocked it all over Wales, and let me tell you, it draws attention. I still get the Sinead O’Connor comments every now and again, but hey, she’s a queen so I take it as a compliment.

Now hear me out, I truly b...

Bisexuality and Polyamory: Not a Package Deal

If you’ve ever been told you’re a compulsive cheater because you’re bisexual, I hope you didn’t listen. And if you did, then please read about exactly why they are wrong. You see, unfortunately, bisexuality is often associated with disloyalty. Many people believe that because bisexual people are attracted to all genders, the temptation to cheat on their partner is higher and therefore bisexual people always cheat on their lovers. In addition to this, people believe that bisexual people always ne...

Let’s Talk About Nostalgia: Why Tomb Raider II Is An Unbeatable Gaming Experience

Ah, Tomb Raider II. The game that our dads slaved over and then later, proudly handed down to us in a beat-up case.

It was truly the first of its kind. Released on Playstation One, I can still hear the load-up screen as it would play every Saturday morning in my lounge. Not to mention, the haunting bangs of the butler locked in the freezer for the millionth time.

Whilst I no longer have my Playstation One, and if I’m honest they have become like gold dust among the gaming community, Tomb Raider II is available to play on Steam from the link above.

Just looking at posters for Tomb Raider II, I am astounded at how far graphics have come since the game was first released. Although, I miss playing games where your character is made up of three pixels and a tinny, overlaid voice recording. There’s something comforting about it, you know?

Let’s explore why Tomb Raider II is an unbeatable game, shall we?

Opinion: Making space for inclusion and diversity - TVBEurope

Radical Moves' River Williams looks at how the broadcast industry can become more inclusive and representative in order to benefit the professionals working within it, as well as the wonderful and unique content it produces

Over the past few years, the media and entertainment industry has started to take the necessary steps towards inclusion and diversity, both in broadcast content and in the workplace. This being said, there is still some way to go, and it’s clear that this shift towards inclu...

10 Reasons Why the Buzz-cut Actually IS All The (Queer) Buzz

So many of world’s biggest badasses have a shaved head. Just think of people like Sinead o Connor, Cara Delevingne, Halsey, Kristen Stewart, Grace Jones, Demi Moore and many more (see what I did there). But what is the buzz of the buzzcut? And why is it, more recently, considered a queer fashion staple?

As a conveyor of the shaved head for a little over a year, I’m here to tell you of all the reasons why 2020 might just be the year to brave the shave, and why it has allowed me to embrace my s...

Coping with Mental Health Disorders in a Global Pandemic

Let’s be real, global pandemics suck. You can’t see your friends, you can’t go to work, and most importantly you can’t really leave the house unless it’s for essentials like food and medicine. For many people like myself, this is actually much more dangerous than it sounds. It can be detrimental to your mental health.

I suffer with generalised anxiety and panic disorder partnered with clinical depression. You know what that means? It’s a constant dope-ass party, man. Balloons, party poppers,...

Bisexual Fashion: Does it Exist? If So, What Does it Look Like?

Bisexual fashion, by definition, is anything a bisexual-identifying person uses to express themselves. You wear what you want and call it fashion, honey.

Of course, there are certain elements of fashion that people associate with bisexuality or just general queerness. Hold onto your seats as I attempt to explain and break down queer fashion for you.

Have you ever seen someone and known they were gay? That’s probably a stupid question, of course you have. If you have a gay-dar in working order...

True Growth: Ellie's Journey in The Last of Us 2

It was worth the eight-year wait.

As a teen, I was nothing short of obsessed with The Last of Us from its release date on the 14th of June 2013. With my bulky Playstation 3 and a wild imagination, I was set for my GCSEs and late-night weekdays. Since then, I’ve 100% completed it nine times.

Now, in 2021, I was beyond thrilled (basically shaking with excitement) to rip open the highly anticipated parcel that arrived at my door. The Last of Us Part II is here. It’s time.

Immediately, I grew emotional. Seeing how much the graphics had developed, specifically amongst the signature TLOU-Esque apocalyptic cities, made me re-live my teenage years at the ripe age of twenty-four. Each opening scene was delivered with a perfect nostalgic taste, practically forcing me to explore every inch of the open-world dynamics that Naughty Dog had presented to me.

Harley Quinn is Bi: Why Birds of Prey Is Exactly What The Community Needed

Today’s a short but sweet one guys!

I think it’s safe to say that Birds of Prey successfully captured the hearts of every die-hard Harley Quinn fan on the planet. It was every kind of badass there’s ever been. And to top it all off, it confirms that Harley Quinn is bisexual.

The film saw Margot Robbie, who also starred in Suicide Squad, 2016 absolutely slaying her performance as Harley Quinn, fresh out of a break-up with her not-so-beloved-anymore Mr J. It’s her exploration, her revelation...

The Queer Hero Saga: Queer Representation in Comic Book Characters

Superheroes are the bad-ass, super-humanly strong, flawed children of our society. They are also some of the most traditional, creative topics of our generation. They’ve been written since as early as 1934, when every misogynistic practice was still in place; whether racist, homophobic or sexist. For this reason, superheroes have some of the most prevalent character ark developments I’ve ever seen.

Take Captain America: the perfect, male, heterosexual patriot everyone wished for during the Wo...

Innovations and Insights from MPTS 2024 - Radical Moves

One of the highlights for us at MPTS was a conference held on the first day titled ‘Post-Transformation: What Now?’ featuring BBC, Channel 4, Accedo and Techex. The discussion was centred around the current state of the broadcast industry and what lies ahead. During the conference, some fascinating points were raised about the concerns and expectations surrounding the industry’s transformation, and what we can expect.

Amongst these points was an in-depth discussion surrounding the implications...

“Hope, The Damn Thing Never Leaves You Alone”: Klara and the Sun, an Honest Review

Well, I didn’t expect that.

Klara and The Sun has received endless praise, sell-out reviews and has seen hundreds of well-loved page corners around the world. When I picked it up, it was on a whim. I found it in a charity shop, and entranced by the pillar-box red cover, it came home with me. And oh boy am I glad it did.

This beacon of fiction explores the life of an AI virtual assistant, Klara, as she struggles her way through understanding her human owner, Josie. If I’m being honest, when...
